Familiar Face
Current Treo 600/650 owners will have no problem getting comfortable with the Treo 700p, which is uses basically the same interface design and form factor. And that's the point, really, since 700p buyers are likely those trading up to get EV-DO broadband.
Like its 700w Windows Mobile-based fraternal twin, the Palm OS-running 700p is 6.4 ounces and .9 inches thick, bigger and chunkier than most mobile flip phones, but not so large as to be unwieldy.

Buttoned Up
The 700p has an excellent thumb keyboard with dialpad, and just enough buttons to make navigation simple, yet still one-handed. The five-way navigator makes short work of selections, and the dedicated Phone and Power/End buttons are easy to find even without looking.

Top-Heavy
The top of the 700p holds several key functions: the SD/MMC card slot, which you'll definitely need for programs and data, the ringer switch, which now vibrates slightly to confirm that it's muted, and the IR "beam" port, which seems to get little use these days as Bluetooth takes over. It still makes a cool extra TV remote, however.
