Turning off Location Services

For iPhone

1. Select the Settings icon from your Home screen

2. Select Location Services from the Settings menu

3. Scroll down the list of apps until you find either the Free Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Finder app and flip the switch to OFF. Free Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Finder will no longer be able to use your location information. Change the setting back to ON to allow Free Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Finder to use your location information again, to search near you or use the app’s ‘Get Directions’ feature.

For iPad

1. Select the Settings icon from your Home screen

2. Select Location Services from the left Settings menu and then switch Free Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Finder to OFF. Free Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Finder will no longer be able to use your location information. Change the setting back to ON to allow Free Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Finder to again use your location information to search near you or use the app’s ‘Get Directions’ feature.

iPad - step 2

For Android

1. Select the Settings icon from the launch screen

2. Select Location & Security from the Settings menu

3. Uncheck ‘Use wireless networks’ and ‘Use GPS satellites’. Note: Android doesn’t let you select which specific apps to turn location services on or off. By unchecking ‘Use wireless networks’ and ‘Use GPS satellites’ you are denying location services to all your apps.
