Kevin McKenzie President and CEO JIWIRE Inc. was founded by Kevin McKenzie, who brings to the company nine years of experience in online publishing and commerce in the technology industry. With a passion for technology products, and the wireless industry in particular, McKenzie is a pioneer of media and online commerce.
Prior to founding the company, Kevin McKenzie was the senior vice president of CNET Networks' Shopping Services, which include its three Web sites developed to support tech buyers through every phase of the purchasing process: CNET, ZDNet Shopper, and mySimon. The sites integrate trusted editorial, including news and product reviews, with a powerful technology product data engine to fuel the decision-making and buying processes for a variety of tech audiences, from IT professionals and business decision makers, to people who rely on technology in their personal lives.
Prior to heading CNET's Shopping Services, McKenzie was senior vice president of CNET Channel, a business unit of CNET Networks and a provider of online technology product data, sales tools, and services for companies throughout the IT supply chain.
McKenzie played a key role in the success of CNET Networks since he joined the company in 1996. He wrote the business plan and developed the product for CNET's leads model, formed CNET's first content syndication/circulation team, and oversaw several acquisitions.
Prior to joining CNET Networks, McKenzie held the position of online marketing manager at Internet Shopping Network, the first online computer superstore in the world. He joined ISN as the third employee in 1994 and pioneered some of the first e-commerce marketing on the Web.
Jeff Pittelkau Vice President and Executive Producer Jeff Pittelkau comes to JIWIRE with 15 years experience in product-reviews journalism and buying-guide content development. He has created numerous print and online products for Ziff-Davis Publishing, IDG, Future Network USA, CNET Networks, Kmart, and several startups. Prior to joining JIWIRE, he was associate vice president of shopper guides for CNET Networks, where he was responsible for the creation of product-buying guides, as well as product management and front-door programming for CNET's reviews and shopping channels. Jeff holds a bachelor's degree in math with computer science from Harvey Mudd College.
Craig Lurey CTO
Craig Lurey leads the development team and technical infrastructure of JIWIRE. Prior to joining JIWIRE, Lurey founded Apollo Solutions, a company focused on delivering supply chain management software to the computer reseller industry. Apollo Solutions was acquired by CNET Networks in June 2000, where Lurey played a leading role in the launch of CNET's ChannelOnline ASP service. Before starting Apollo Solutions, Lurey developed software for Motorola's Japanese CDMA infrastructure. Craig holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University.
Glenn Fleishman Senior Editor and Editorial Advisor Glenn Fleishman writes about technology for The New York Times, InfoWorld magazine, and Macworld magazine. He has been a regular columnist for The Seattle Times since 2000, and a professional freelance writer for 10 years. He writes and operates the daily news site for Wi-Fi industry information, Wi-Fi Networking News. Glenn worked at Amazon.com in 1996 and 1997, where he managed book information across all departments, and developed their out-of-print and used book program. Glenn founded one of the first Web development firms in 1994, Point of Presence Company, and was part of the team that broadcast the first feature film on the Internet from his company's office in 1995. He sold the company to join Amazon.com. Glenn studied graphic design at Yale University, where he received a bachelor's degree in art.
Andrew Zeiger Vice President, Sales Andrew Zeiger has been in advertising and technology publishing since 1989. Andrew began working on the agency side at Bates and FCB, handling AT&T and Digital Equipment Corporation, as well as consumer packaged goods accounts such as Colgate and M&M Mars. His publishing career has included experience at Ziff Davis Publishing's PC Magazine. He became a director of sales at start-up Inquiry.com before moving to CNET Networks. There he served as the West Coast regional vice president of sales; vice president of sales, ChannelOnline; and most recently vice president of sales, Outbound Media. Andrew holds a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and advertising from American University.
David Blumenfeld Vice President, Marketing David Blumenfeld comes to JIWIRE with nine years of marketing and advertising experience. David spent the last five years at CNET Networks, initially as a senior marketing manager developing multimillion-dollar advertising programs for technology clients, and most recently as director of U.S. marketing for CNET's Channel division, a provider of online technology product data, sales tools, and services for companies throughout the IT supply chain. Prior to joining CNET, David worked at Andersen & Lembke Advertising, handling numerous high-tech accounts, including Microsoft, Siebel, Tandem Computers, and Autodesk. David holds a bachelor's degree in history and business from the University of California at Los Angeles.
